slack water: between tides

From July 28 to August 6, I was a Friends of Fundy Artist-in-Residence at the Molly Kool Heritage Centre in Alma, New Brunswick.

The Centre became my open studio, where I built an exhibition live from images I made out on the tidal flats. Those images hung from used fisherman's rope in the centre of the space, while the back walls held pieces from an earlier series, structured water (visible in some of the installation shots below). Visitors were encouraged to drop in and watch the exhibition take shape.

Below are some of the images I made on the flats, along with some installation shots. On the final day, the exhibition closed with live music, when Jim Kitts from Fundy Mud Pottery stopped by with his RAV Kurd handpan and shakuhachi flutes.

It was an awesome way to end a residency shaped entirely by the rhythm of the tides.

This series is available as 8x10in prints for $40 CAD each (includes shipping/taxes). At this time, I only ship to Canadian addresses.
