color planes

Photography has a natural connection to geometry. Elements such as lines, shapes, proportion, and perspective are used in both disciplines, creating a common visual language.

color planes is inspired by Mark Rothko’s Color Field Paintings and Josef Albers’ Homage to the Square. Through experimental in-camera techniques, the series uses the interplay of light and color to construct geometric compositions, suggesting form and dimension. But they never truly resolve.

How far can the geometry be pushed before the image becomes unstable? Unrecognizable?
