color planes

Photographs have a direct connection to geometry. Images can be distilled down to a geometric language. Lines, shapes, proportion and perspective are part of the common language used in both disciplines.

color planes is a digital photographic series that draws inspiration from Mark Rothko’s Color Field Paintings and Josef Albers’ Homage to the Square. Constructed in the studio using experimental in-camera techniques, the series relies on light and color to build geometric worlds.
